Volume Migration for Tape Virtualization

A virtual tape solution consists of a server, disk storage, and software that together provide a buffer or cache between mainframe and/or open systems servers and the tape storage systems. Instead of writing directly to a physical tape drive, mainframe and/or open system workloads read and write to virtual drives created and maintained by the virtual tape solution.
